Over the January 6th to 8th weekend, the Soo U18 Jr Greyhounds hit the highway for a trip north to New Liskeard, Kapuskasing, and Timmins for a three-game road trip in Great North U18 Hockey League action to meet the New Liskeard Cubs, Kapuskasing Flyers, and Timmins Majors.

In three games on the road, the Soo Jr Greyhounds finished the weekend with a 2 – 1 record with a 7 – 2 win over the New Liskeard Cubs, as well as a 5 – 3 win against the Kapuskasing Flyers while rounding out the weekend with a 3 – 2 loss in Timmins to the Majors.

Soo Jr Greyhound coach Jamie Henderson told Saultsports that “it is always a tough trip obviously to play 3 games in just over 40 hours and be on the bus that long isn’t easy but we had a pretty solid weekend. Unfortunately today we couldn’t finish the weekend off we just weren’t as sharp mentally you could see it from the start even though we dominated most of the game we couldn’t find the back of the net.”

“Overall, it was the first time twelve of our players experienced this three game weekend so we’ll learn from it and get back to work on Tuesday as we look ahead to Sudbury on the weekend,” added Henderson.
The Jr Greyhounds will be back on the road for a two game road trip in Sudbury against the Sudbury U18 Nickel Capitals and the Sudbury U16 Nickel Capitals on Friday, January 13th and January 14th with game times of 7:30 p.m on Friday and a 2:00 p.m puck drop on Saturday in Great North U18 Hockey League action.
