Coming off a 2 – 1 weekend road trip over the January 6th to 8th weekend, the Soo U18 Greyhounds hit the road for two games against the Sudbury U18 Nickel Capitals and the Sudbury U16 Nickel Capitals on Friday, January 13th and Saturday, January 14th in Great North U18 Hockey League action.
Soo U18 Greyhound coach Jamie Henderson told Saultsports that “I really liked our commitment to playing the right way and being hard to play against this weekend. We didn’t have our best execution offensively despite a lot of zone time but it’s certainly trending in the right direction. Seems like anytime we had a breakdown our goalies were spectacular as they have been all season. Both Maverick Fletcher and Nate Maguire had great weekends.”
“Most importantly we had real solid efforts from the entire roster which is important as we head to Peterborough,” added Henderson.
The Greyhounds will now be back on the road to head to Peterborough, Ontario for the 2023 Steve Richey Tournament of Champions from Wednesday, January 18th to Sunday, January 22nd.
