GREYHOUND BRENDAN COOKE LEADS U18’S PAST VISITING CAPITALS

Over the Saturday, November 19 and Sunday, November 20 weekend, the first place Soo U18 Greyhounds hosted the Sudbury U18 Nickel Capitals at the John Rhodes Centre in U18 hockey action.

Over the Saturday, November 19 and Sunday, November 20 weekend, the first place Soo U18 Greyhounds hosted the Sudbury U18 Nickel Capitals at the John Rhodes Centre in U18 hockey action.

The Greyhound came away from the weekend with two big wins over the visiting Nickel Capitals with the Soo winning 7 – 1 and 5 – 3. Soo Greyhound forward led the weekend with three goals and two assists in the weekend contests against the Sudbury U18 Nickel Capitals.

Soo U18 Greyhound coach Jamie Henderson told Saultsports that “Saturday we came out a little flat before finding our game in the second. We started seeing some bad habits creep in which carried over to yesterday. Defensively we left our goalies out to dry on several occasions all weekend and we cheated to try and score goals. Giving up breakaways and odd man rushes isn’t a recipe for successful hockey long term.”

“Despite the two wins we clearly have a lot to work on beginning Tuesday at practice,” added Henderson.
