PEEWEE MINOR AA SOO JR.GREYHOUNDS, U13, 2017-2018 (Sault Major Hockey)

The peewee Minor AA Greyhounds closed out their season this weekend with a silver medal in the Nickel District Hockey League playoffs.  The Hounds tied once and won 2 games to earn a berth in the finals in the Peewee II division against a peewee Major team from Sudbury.   The Woo jumped out to a 2 -0 lead and played strong all game but the wolves didn't quit and chipped away at the lead to tie it And take the lead in the 3rd.  The Hounds had several chances to tie the game only to be denied.

With a 7 game string of games with at least a point on the line, the AA Hounds headed to Sudbury for a 3 pack of league games. Game one saw the hounds face a familiar foe in the Sudbury Peewee Minor AA Wolves.  The Soo club scored early and lead for the majority of the game.  Both goalies were stellar in keeping the game close until a scramble lead to a late tying goal by the wolves.

The Manitoulin Panthers were the opposition for the PeeWee Minor AA Greyhounds this weekend in Nickle Disctrict Hockey League play.  The Teams skated to 1-1 and 3-3 ties on Saturday in Espanola. Next up a road trip to Sudbury for more league action.

The Fisher Wavy/Elgie Builders Jr Hounds travelled to Marquette Michigan for a mini series against some PeeWee A team from the area and from Green Bay Wisconsin. The Marquette and Soo Michigan entries proved no match with 7-1 and 9-0 wins for the hounds.   After attending a College hockey game Saturday evening the hounds faced a Green Bay squad and skated away with a 2-1 win.   The final game the hounds faced Marquette once again and skated to a 4-0 win .

The PeeWee Minor AA Hounds weekend ended early with a 1 and 3 record in the Glenn Bellerby Annual Hockey tournament in Barrie Ontario.   Friday saw the hounds drop 5-0 and 5-3 decisions to the Mississauga Jets and Northumberland Nighthawks respectively. Saturday the team started well with a 5-1 victory over The Waterloo Ravens only to drop a 4-1 game to the Toronto Royals to end their weekend.
