Atom Major AA Greyhounds Bring Home Consolation Final
The Atom Major AA Soo Jr Greyhounds return home from the Motown Cup last weekend with a 2 - 1 - 1 record. Before the action started Coach Troy learned he would be without the services of sniper Jake Briffet(flu) for the weekend.
After dropping a tough 5 - 0 tilt to the 19th ranked team in Michigan the club rebounded with a solid effort against a tough Ohio based Winterhurst Warriors Club. The game ended in a 2 - 2 tie. The Hounds pressed hard and outshot the Warriors but were unable to break the deadlock. The Hounds ended the round robin with a game against the London Bandits. Another solid effort kept the Dogs out front for a 4-2 final. However the tiebreaker left the club one goal short of reaching the championship. The Consolation final saw the team face the London Bandits once again. This time they lead from start to finish with a 3 - 0 final. Sara Boston had the shutout.
