Update to Tryout Schedule
Congratulation to the U13AA Soo Jr Greyhounds for making the finals at the OHFs this afternoon. Good Luck and we all hope you bring back the championship. As a result, all players at the OHFs are not to attend the first tryout session tomorrow morning. We will make adjustment to the teams according. All remaining players will play a game starting at 10am tomorrow.

Important Tryout Reminders
- Players will be asked to report to staff on the first day of tryouts to be assigned jerseys.
- All players must bring their own water bottles.
- Players should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to their scheduled ice time.
- There will be zero tolerance for horseplay before, during, or after tryouts. Any player(s) misbehaving will be asked to leave and will not be permitted to return.
- All tryout information and updates will be communicated via email and the Sault Major website.
U14 AAA Tryouts – Hitting Policy and Expectations
During our U14 AAA tryouts, our staff is looking forward to a highly competitive environment. While U14 is the introduction to hitting, we are choosing to take a more conservative approach due to the varying abilities and experiences of players at this level.
Hitting is an important part of the game and, like any other skill, it needs to be properly taught and developed. The primary goal of body contact in hockey is to separate the opponent from the puck in order to regain possession.
With this in mind, we will allow players to engage in body contact through rub-outs and pinning during battles. However, we will not permit open-ice hits, contact from behind, or blindside hits during the tryout process.
Once the team is selected, our coaching staff will dedicate time to teaching the proper techniques for both giving and receiving checks in a controlled and safe manner.
