U13 AAA Soo Jr. Greyhounds, U13, 2024-2025 (Sault Major Hockey)

The Soo Jr. Greyhounds competed in the U13 12U AAA (2012) division of the Silver Stick International Finals in Port Huron/Detroit, Michigan, from January 9 to 11, 2025.  The tournament featured some of the best teams from across North America, and the Greyhounds finished the round robin portion with a 2-2 record, gaining valuable experience against high-level competition.

The Soo Jr. Greyhounds ("Hounds") U13AAA team capped off their holiday season with a memorable showing at the Marlboros Holiday Classic, a long-standing post-Christmas tradition in the Toronto area. ALLIANCE WEEKEND #1 – OCT 5-6 The first weekend of October, the U13AAA Greyhounds attended their inaugural weekend series of games against Alliance teams. The first matchup was against Kitchner. The Hounds were successful with a 6-1 victory. The next matchup was scheduled against Waterloo. Unfortunately, no referees were booked and the game had to be rescheduled to the November 22-24 weekend.

The U13 AAA Soo Jr Greyhounds (“Hounds”) traveled to the Hamilton Steel AAA tournament on the December 6-8 weekend. The Hounds first opponent was against the Guelph Gryphons. The Hounds brought early pressure and had a number of chances in the crease, but game was tight throughout and the Hounds ultimately squeaked away with a 2–0 victory. In Game 2, the Hounds had a late start time of 9 PM against the Oakland Jr Grizzlies. From Oct 18-20, the U13AAA Greyhounds attended the Barrie Pee Challenge, with a number of strong teams in the tournament from throughout the Ontario hockey associations. The Hounds started strong with two (2) wins on Friday, upending the Ottawa Myers AAA and Credit River Capitals (Brampton). On Saturday, the Hounds were looking to make it three in a row, but were beaten by the Southern Tier Admirals 4-2 in a game where the Hounds took an early lead, but could not keep the momentum going and found themselves down 4-1 before trying to mount a late comeback.
