U12 AAA Soo Jr. Greyhounds, U13, 2023-2024 (Sault Major Hockey)

The Hounds went on the road again towards the end of January to participate in the Great Lakers Cup.  The tournament was held in Stratford, Ontario including many games at the Historic Allman Arena. The Hounds were hoping to start this tournament with a win against the Waterloo Wolves but needed two (2) late goals to come back and tie the game 3-3. In game two, the Hounds fell short to the host team, Huron Perth Lakers 4-2.

Just prior to the Christmas break, the U12AAA Soo Jr. Greyhounds (“Hounds”) travelled to South Bend, Indiana to play on the campus of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, the prestigious division 1 school. This was a showcase tournament with several teams from throughout Canada and the USA. The Hounds played opponents from five (5) different US states.

The Soo Jr. Greyhounds (“Hounds”) entered the U12 AAA International Silver Sticks in Whitby with a very difficult field of teams. The 25 teams were spread across five (5) divisions, each division containing five (5) of the top teams in Ontario and throughout the USA. The Hounds division included the two (2) time defending champion North York Rangers and other highly competitive teams.

The Barrie Pee Wee Challenge was hosted in Barrie, Ontario, this past weekend, Oct 20-22.
