Battle for the Border Showcase
The U13 AAA Jr Hounds faced off this past weekend in the inaugural Battle for the Border Showcase in Detroit. The showcase pitted 8 US teams against 8 Canadian teams over the three days. US teams came from all over the country, while the Canadian teams were from Southern Ontario, except the Jr Hounds representing the North.        

The Jr Hounds started strong with a 6-3 win vs Mid Fairfield Jr Rangers and a competitive 5-3 loss to the Chicago Mission. Penalties got the best of the Hounds on day two as they started with an 8-1 loss to the Chicago Fury. The group bounced back against a fast skating Pittsburgh Pens Elite team, but dropped a very entertaining game, 2-1. Sunday was showdown day and the Hounds finished strong in the 4 v 4 game with a 3-1 win over the Mid Fairfield Jr Rangers, who lost only to the Hounds on the weekend.

The coaches were very proud of how the team battled over the weekend in an event that featured such strong competition.
