A Weekend Sweep and Off to Silversticks
The U16 Hounds are on a 3-game winning streak after two ties and a loss last weekend. On November 19th, the boys played a short bench and struggled on the ice taking a 2-2 tie and a 3-1 empty net loss against the U16 AA Nickel City Jr Sons, followed by a 1-1 tie against the West Nipissing U18A Hawks on November 20th. They came back with a 3-2 win against the U18AA Soo Jr Hounds on November 22 and swept the Powassan Hawks this weekend with 3-1 and 5-0 wins on Saturday, November 26.
This week the boys prepare for the U16AA Silver Sticks Tournament in Sudbury Dec 1-4 where they will face off with the Waterloo Wolves on Thursday, Dec. 1, followed by Nickel City Jr Sons Friday, Copper Cliff Reds Saturday morning and #1-ranked Gloucester Rangers Saturday evening. They're looking forward to new competition against the southern Ontario teams and hoping to move on to Silversticks International in January.
