Niagara North Classic Tourney Recap
U11 HOUNDS COMPETE IN ST. CATHARINES AAA TOURNAMENT

This weekend our U11 Junior Hounds took part in the Niagara North Front Row Sports Classic AAA Tournament in St. Catharines Ontario and more than held their own.
The boys opened the tournament against a solid Kingston Jr. Gaels team. The Hounds looked good early getting out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Jayden Fisher-Ruck and Brett Rossetto. Unfortunately the Jr. Gaels responded well working hard and receiving some “puck luck” to score 5 unanswered goals handing the Hounds a 5-2 loss.
Game two saw the Junior Hounds take on the Clarington Toros. This was a hard fought game that featured some excellent goaltending at both ends. After falling behind 1-0, a goal by Brett Rossetto tied the game and that was how it ended. Carter Rome made several key saves to get the tie.
Day two opened with a morning game against a formidable Hamilton Huskies team. The Soo boys were up to the task and played their most complete game of the year earning a 4-1 victory. Rossetto notched a couple more in this one while Wyatt Jarrett and Lukas Maninos chipped in with a goal apiece. Ben Clayton was superb in net and earned the win.
The fourth and final game of the tournament for our boys came against the highly ranked and eventual tournament winning Southern Tier Admirals. The Admirals lived up to their ranking and handed the Hounds a 6-0 loss.
This was the first tournament these boys have been on together and the first tournament action they have seen in almost two years. All things considered they competed hard and had a good weekend. Next up the U11 Hounds take on the U10 Hounds this Friday at the GFL Memorial Gardens. Puck drop is 6:30pm.
