The Road to the Cup
The ‘07 Soo Jr
Greyhounds journey has reached the halfway mark for the 2019-2020 season and it
is only going to get better. The hard work and dedication that the players and
coaches have put into every practice have shown in their results so far this
year.
The team is entering into the second half of the season with a combined record of 28 wins, 6 losses, 2 OT losses and 3 ties. They sit in first place in the NOHLAAA league, where they have been undefeated within their northern loop.
The red and white are in their final preparation practices this week as they will be entering in the prestigious “The Cup, North American Championship” Tournament this weekend in Buffalo NY. The team has been looking forward to this tournament all year and will test their skills competing against some of the top 20 USA and Canadian teams that will be representing their Country. They will battle teams from New Jersey, Buffalo, New England and Connecticut in round robin play in their Quest to win “The Cup”. Even though the boys have not played a ’07 AAA team in over a month, the practices and exhibition games they played have them ready to shine this weekend.
This will be an excellent experience for the boys in the red and white and it is only the beginning to a great second half that will be filled with once in a life time opportunities coming their way. The '07 AAA Soo Jr Greyhounds will partake in the Ontario Winter Games in February and with hopes of achieving their season goal to reach the OHF Championships in April.
