With a 4 game
showcase to launch the 2018-2019 season, the 2007 Jr Hounds AAA team worked off
some of the rust from the 5 month layoff from playing games. The weekend also gave
the boys the opportunity to run their new offensive tactics and allow our new
player the chance to learn our style of play. The hounds finished the weekend
with a 3-0-1 record.
Even with the positive results over the weekend, the boys have a lot of work to do, to be successful as an elite AAA team. The boys are going through the transition from summer time to “Go Time” and everything steaming from conditioning and skill to understanding and improving their hockey IQ are all equally important moving forward. This is going to be a challenging year for the 07 Jr Hounds and 100% effort, every shift, by every player will be extremely important to the overall success of the team.
The next action for the boys will be their season opener on Saturday Sept 29 when Timmins North Stars come into town for 3 games series at the John Rhodes Community Centre.
