Soo Jr Tornado Complete Regular Season Play
The regular season concluded for your Soo Jr Tornado on Monday Feb 26th...

The team wrapped up its regular season action in convincing fashion earning a 9-2 decision over the Sports Gold Rush.

In what was most definitely a well balanced and competitive league all season long, your Soo Jr. Tornado completed regular season play with an overall record of 18-9-2 good for 38 pts including 148 goals for and only 86 against.  With two games remaining to be played between the Sports Gold Rush and the Root River Rangers this week, it remains to be seen if this will be good enough to capture the League Championship.

Your Soo Jr. Tornado competed in 5 tournaments this season and amassed 3 Championships (Boo in the Soo; Soo MI, Kings Cup; Lansing MI, and the Motown Series Cup; Detroit MI), along with a semi final loss in the Steel City and a 1-1-2 record in the GTHA series cup; Traverse City in the fall.

In NDMHL action vs. the Copper Cliff Redmen and the Nickle City Jr. Sons, the Soo Jr. Tornado played 11 games, going 2-2-2 vs. the Redmen and 0-5 vs. the Jr. Sons.  Despite the 0-5 record vs. the Jr. Sons, the team proved they could play with the very strong program, twice losing by just a goal, along with 2-0, 3-0 and 4-0 shutout losses.

Next up is an extended break until the playoffs begin following the March break. We would like to wish both the Sports Gold Rush and the Root River Rangers the best of luck as they compete in the NOHA TOC Playdowns in Nickle City March 9-11.

Your Soo Jr. Tornado are playing there best hockey at the right time, heading into the playoffs, and the team is primed to have a strong showing as they look to complete a very successful season on a high note.

I would like to thank all the players, parents and staff for your dedication and support thus far. We believe we have developed and improved throughout the season and look forward to the final chapter on a fun and successful season.
