Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):
1. What is this all about?
A. Sault Major and Soo PeeWee are proposing the transition of administrative and managerial responsibilities for U15 and U18 house league and "A" carded teams from SMHA to SPWHL. The goal is to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and enhance grassroots hockey development in Sault Ste. Marie.
2. When would the transition occur?
A. The transition would occur no earlier than the 2025-2026 season, and no later than the 2026-2027 season.
3. Why is there a meeting if this is already decided?
A. Nothing has been decided. This is a joint proposal from the boards, and is being put to both membership groups for a vote. If either membership group votes against the proposal, the proposal will fail and Sault Major will continue to operate these leagues and teams.
4. Section 5.01 (a) of the constitution says Teams registered to the association shall be entitled to one (1) vote per team. What if more than one coach wants to vote?
A.
Any parent coaches properly registered as a Parent/Guardian member would have the right to vote through their Parent/Guardian membership. As per the constitution, there is one (1) vote granted per team to vote.
